Do you want to make the switch to renewable energy sources and reduce your carbon impact? Contact Go Greener Energy Services today – the premier heat pump installers in Lincolnshire – and we can help you with design, installation and servicing of a ground source or air source heat pump.
How do heat pumps work?
Heat pumps use renewable energy to produce low-carbon heat and hot water, and as such are an efficient and sustainable alternative to gas boilers. There are two common types of heat pump on the market:
Air source heat pumps – An air source heat pump extracts air from outside and uses a refrigerant to transfer it into usable heat and hot water, similar to how air conditioning works. Hot water can be stored in a tank for later use and is also transported to radiators.
Ground source heat pumps – A ground source heat pump extracts heat from the ground using a series of pipes. This is then transferred into heat and hot water for use around the home or business.
Both air source and ground source heat pumps use sustainable electricity, and can produce heat more efficiently than a traditional gas boiler. They can also store hot water overnight when electricity tariffs are cheaper. The heat produced by heat pumps is longer-lasting compared to the short blasts of heat produced by gas boilers, and hence over the course of the day this produces a more comfortable heat and is therefore more efficient.
